The Solution

Don’t despair;  if you already have a blog and want to move it somewhere else, we can help!  There are four types of transfers that we support:  WordPress, Blogger, TypePad (basic & advanced), and Basic Content.

Our WordPress-To-Wordpress transfer package works for both wordpress.com and self-hosted WordPress installations.  This service includes:

  • A full backup of your existing self-hosted site
  • Configuration of your new host
  • Database creation
  • Restoration of old site in it’s new home
  • Install basic security plugins
  • Testing
  • Pointing your domain name to the new site

If you currently use Blogger and want to get on the WordPress bandwagon, we can help with that as well.  You’ll need to buy a domain name and sign up for a web hosting package (both of which we also offer).  Once you provide us with your account information, we will:

  • Create your database
  • Install WordPress
  • Create your WordPress.com account
  • Install basic security plugins
  • Migrate your content from Blogger to WordPress
  • Test your site
  • Provide you with 30 minutes of initial orientation via phone/chat to get you familiarized with WordPress!

For TypePad users, the steps for transferring TypePad are similar to Blogger, with the exception of transferring photos.  This process is more involved, which is why the difference in price.

You’ll need to purchase a unique domain name and sign up for a web hosting package (both of which we can provide you with).  If you decide not to host with us, once you provide us with your account information, we will:

  • Create your database
  • Install WordPress
  • Create your WordPress.com account
  • Install basic security plugins
  • Migrate your content from TypePad to WordPress
  • Test your site
  • Provide you with 30 minutes of initial orientation via phone/chat to get you familiarized with WordPress!

The Basic TypePad transfer is for those who have been blogging for less than 2 years (or ~700 posts), and includes moving your blog posts, attachments (photos), and up to 10 pages to WordPress.  Each additional page moved will cost $5.

The Advanced TypePad transfer is for those who have been blogging for over 2 years (or have more than 700 posts), and includes moving your blog posts, attachments (photos), and up to 10 pages to WordPress.  Each additional page moved will cost $5.  What separates this transfer from the Basic TypePad transfer is the level of support.  It includes two transfers.  The first transfer happens in the beginning stages to help you visualize how your blog will look during the design phase.  The second transfer occurs just before your site goes ‘live’ to catch any remaining posts that were published during the design phase.  We’ll also dedicate time to you on ‘go live’ day in order to fix any problems that might pop up.

Basic Content Transfer:  If you already have the expertise to install WordPress and create your database, but aren’t comfortable transferring content from your old blog, we have a solution for that as well.  Significantly discounted from our full transfer offerings, our Basic Content transfer service provides the basic migration of content from your existing Blogger or WordPress site to your new WordPress site (not TypePad, sorry).  Perfect for the DIY’er  that needs a helping hand.
